The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, led 26 MOHW-affiliated hospitals, along with industry, government, academia, and research institutions

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) held a press conference today (6th), titled "Cross-Field Unity for Sustainable Healthcare," led by Minister of Health and Welfare, Chiu Tai-Yuan. During the event, 26 MOHW-affiliated hospitals, in collaboration with industry, government, academia, and research institutions, signed the "Hospital Sustainability Development Initiative" with the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Research Foundation. This initiative aligns with the United Nations' SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and President Lai Ching-te's 2050 net-zero carbon policy.

The press conference was further distinguished by the presence of three distinguished international guests: Dr. Ashok Philip, President of the World Medical Association (WMA) from Malaysia; Dr. Jung Yul Park, Chair of the WMA Council from South Korea; and Dr. Otmar Kloiber, Secretary General of the WMA from Germany. Their participation marked an important milestone for the Ministry's efforts in promoting health and well-being, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship.

On December 2nd, the "AI Sustainable Carbon-Neutral Future Summit" centered on "AI Carbon Management." The event, guided by the Ministry of the Environment and jointly promoted by the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Research Foundation, Cita Digital, Taiwan Net Zero Emissions Association, European Digital Green Coalition (EDGC), and Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), brought together representatives from Industrial Technology Research Institute, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, Lite-On Technology, Glovision Smart, Taiwan Medical Industry Management Development Association, and others. The summit explored how to leverage AI technology to accelerate the realization of net-zero emissions.
