1. Description of Visit:

Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of Japan launched the “empirical trial project on carbon dioxide emission reduction technology” program and implemented the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) test experiment in Tomakomai, Japan since 2012. The METI also commissions New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and Japan CCS Research Company (JCCS) for execution.

The tasks of the test project aim to exhibit the first case of the CCS process involving CO2 separation, recycle and storage with the integration system in Japan, which can prove the safety of CCS and publish CCS related information and activities to boost public acceptance and cognition for CCS. The rich experience can be taken into account by domestic institutions intending to develop CCS technology.

To help members understand the CCS project, ATNZE specifically arranges this visit activity. All members and related personnel are encouraged to register and participate.
