1. Core News and Achievement: Crowning the S&P Sustainability Yearbook as the Global Telecom Leader
On May 13, 2026, S&P Global hosted the Sustainability Yearbook recognition ceremony in Taiwan. Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET, 4904) achieved a phenomenal score of 96 in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), ranking first globally in the telecommunications industry within the 2026 Sustainability Yearbook and successfully positioning itself among the top 1% of sustainable enterprises worldwide. In this year's highly competitive evaluation covering more than 9,200 companies globally, only 15 Taiwanese companies made it into the top 1% of their respective industries—with FET being the sole Taiwanese telecom operator to reach this elite tier, solidifying its world-class ESG leadership.
2. Stellar Assessment Performance: Securing Perfect or Top Scores in 17 Indicators and Dominating the DJSI
S&P Global's CSA is widely recognized as one of the world's most authoritative ESG evaluation methodologies and serves as the foundational benchmark for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Out of 23 assessment categories this year, FET scored full marks or the highest industry score globally in 17 indicators (over 70%), demonstrating an absolute lead over international peers across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions. Furthermore, in the recently announced DJSI constituent list, FET has successfully retained its crown as the industry leader in the highly contested "World Index" for the third consecutive year, setting a remarkably consistent track record.
3. Corporate Governance and Tech Empowerment: Leading with Resiliency and Innovation Under Chairman Hsu and President Chee
FET's outstanding milestone stems from the strategic vision of its top leadership. Chairman Douglas Hsu emphasized that corporate management must balance robust growth with sustainable governance, building a solid foundation in institutional design and risk management to maintain transparent, credible operations amidst a volatile market. President Ching Chee further noted that FET has successfully integrated sustainability into its corporate DNA. Moving forward, the company will continue to leverage its core capabilities in AI, 5G, and ICT to enhance corporate governance, optimize operational efficiency, combat telecom fraud, and champion environmental friendliness—ensuring that technology remains the driving force behind corporate resilience and social value creation.
