Every April 22nd, Earth Day serves as a critical moment for the global community to focus on environmental sustainability. In the face of the severe challenges posed by climate change, "2050 Net-Zero" has evolved from a mere advocacy slogan into a mandatory path for corporate transformation and upgrading.

🌍 Our Net-Zero Actions: From Advocacy to Implementation
Over the past period, we have been dedicated to embedding the DNA of sustainability into the industrial supply chain through diverse forums, conferences, and exchange activities:

I. Exploring Ultimate Clean Energy: Focusing on Fusion Development
We understand that energy transition is at the heart of the net-zero journey. In our "Fusion Energy Forum," the association invited the team from General Fusion to conduct an in-depth analysis of the challenges, opportunities, and international trends in fusion technology. Through focused panel discussions involving industry, government, and academia, we explored how to combine Taiwan's talent and industrial advantages to build a new blueprint for the future of energy.

II. Breakthroughs in Decarbonization Technology: Deepening CCUS Capture and Utilization
For hard-to-abate industries, technological innovation is key. During the "Asia-Pacific Sustainability Forum," we brought together international expertise from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taipower, and the National Central University Carbon Storage and Utilization Center, alongside global partners such as Airbridge (Australia) and Pace CCS (UK), to jointly examine the market prospects of CO2 geological storage and utilization. Through these exchanges, we aim to accelerate the exploration of various possibilities for moving "carbon capture" from the laboratory to industrial application.

III. The Frontline of Transformation Strategies: Analyzing Carbon Fees, Carbon Credits, and Carbon Tariffs
In response to the arrival of the global carbon pricing era, the association invited Director General Lin-Yi Tsai of the Climate Change Administration (MOENV) and General Manager Robert Shih of YC Holdings to the "4th GCSF Carbon Fees, Carbon Credits, and Carbon Tariffs Forum" to analyze Taiwan's 2026 carbon pricing strategies. The forum also delved into the decarbonization management strategies and financial impacts of benchmark enterprises such as Asia Cement and AUO, assisting companies in making data-driven decisions and transforming environmental costs into competitive business advantages.

IV. Multi-dimensional New Energy Deployment: Constructing Resilient and Sustainable Solutions
To further expand the horizon of energy transition, we gathered heavyweight perspectives at the "4th GCSF New Energy Forum" to conduct in-depth discussions on future diversified energy solutions:

Strengthening Grid Resilience and Storage: Through practical sharing from EverFortune.AI and Distinguished Professor Ru-Shi Liu of National Taiwan University, we explored how innovative applications of microgrids and energy storage bring triple value—"Intelligence, Sustainability, and Resilience"—to the energy transition.

Strategic Deployment of Frontier Energy Technologies: The forum provided an in-depth analysis of the application potential and scenarios for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in Taiwan and invited Delta Electronics to share hydrogen energy solutions for a net-zero future.

Decarbonization Challenges in Heavy Industry: We invited China Steel Corporation (CSC) for a pragmatic exchange on the R&D challenges and future outlook of carbon capture technologies. Through a comprehensive panel discussion moderated by Lifetime Distinguished Professor Ben-Jie Jiang of National Taiwan University, we aim to spark innovative thinking and solutions for Taiwan's energy development.

🌱 Looking Ahead: Walking Side-by-Side on the Path to Net-Zero

The journey toward net-zero is a long-distance marathon. In the future, Association for Net Zero Emissions Taiwan (anzet) will continue to expand its influence. We will soon host the "Taiwan Carbon Credit Seminar," where we look forward to creating an open space for dialogue. This platform will allow partners from all sectors to exchange perspectives, share practical experiences, and jointly explore the way forward.

Sustainable development is not only a responsibility toward the Earth but also a commitment to the sustainable operation of enterprises. We sincerely thank all our members and partners for their enthusiastic participation and support. On this Earth Day, let us once again unite our consensus and protect the planet through concrete actions!
